Where The Birds Always Sing. (ONGOING)
Being solitude in nature offers us a chance to disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with our selves via self-discovery.

Where The Birds Always Sing is a photographic exploration reflecting the experience of being alone in landscapes, throughout this series I will capture landscapes, documenting my perspective of the word through my Mind’s Eye and Optical Unconscious, as well as exploring the intimate connection between humans and nature. Using Walter Benjamin’s notion of the Optical Unconscious and the Mind’s Eye, I seek to find and capture the details within the landscape that are often overlooked, making the unseen visible; using the camera as a tool in capturing a visual sketchbook, documenting my discoveries throughout the journey I take in the landscape walked in; highlighting the beauty and deterioration.

By documenting this I am showing that landscapes are more than just a physical space, they are emotional and psychological, they are shaped as much as we shape them; by immersing ourselves within nature alone it acts as a means of self-discovery, with the images I capture reflecting on a moment in time where I am connected to the landscape. I aim for viewers not to just see my perspective throughout the landscape, but for them to feel them, converting my senses to theirs by the power of photography. Rediscovering the beauty of the world around us.
